This Privacy Policy describes how Wolf Technologies Ltd ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the ChessMate mobile and web applications (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

• Account data — your email address and username when you register, or your Apple ID identifier if you sign in with Apple. We never see your Apple ID password.
• Game data — the moves you play, your rating, puzzle progress, and game history. This data is associated with your user account.
• Device data — anonymised diagnostics, IP address (used only to detect abusive traffic), and approximate region.
• Subscription data — if you purchase a subscription via the Apple App Store, Apple stores your payment information; we never receive your card number.

2. How we use information

• To provide chess gameplay, matchmaking, puzzle ratings, and the leaderboard.
• To deliver subscription benefits and verify entitlements.
• To detect and prevent cheating, abuse, and fraudulent purchases.

We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use cookies or device identifiers for advertising or third-party analytics.

3. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share data only with processors that operate the Service on our behalf — Amazon Web Services (hosting and database), and Apple (in-app purchases on iOS). Each is bound by their own privacy and security commitments.

4. Your rights

You may access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time. The in-app Settings page contains a "Delete Account" control that permanently removes your profile, ratings, games, and subscription record. Subscriptions purchased via the App Store must be cancelled separately through Apple.

5. Children

ChessMate is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us at the address below and we will delete it.

6. Data retention

We retain account and gameplay data while your account is active. After deletion, profile information and gameplay records keyed to your user ID are erased within 30 days. Anonymised statistical aggregates may be retained.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AWS KMS-managed keys). Authentication is handled by Amazon Cognito; passwords are never stored in plaintext.
